MAXXI Museo nazionale delle arti del XXI secolo - The National centre for the Contemporary Art and Architecture

Opening year: 2010

Architect: Zaha Hadid

The MAXXI design goes beyond the concept of the building-museum. The complexity of the volumes, the curving walls, the variations and intersections of the levels determine a very rich spatial and functional configuration that visitors may pass through via ever different and unexpected routes.

Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone

Opening year: 2002

Architect: Renzo Piano

Designed by Renzo Piano, the Auditorium represents sophisticated musical architecture and an extraordinary urban redevelopment project.

Rome Convention Center "La Nuvola"

Opening year: 2016

Architect: Massimiliano Fuksas

The Rome Convention Center is an international work that is of strategic importance for both the city and the Country. […] Standing within a context that is dominated by the architectural rationalism of the ‘Thirties and ‘Forties, it boasts technologically advanced ways of creating harmonic, fluid spaces, suitable for people who are permanently on the move and constantly interconnected.

The mosque

Opening year: 1995

Architects: Paolo Portoghesi, Sami Mousawi, Vittorio Gigliotti

Built to a design by the architect Paolo Portoghesi, assisted by the engineer Vittorio Gigliotti and the Iraqi architect Sami Moussawi, it represents a synthesis between Islamic, Italian architecture and the local Roman tradition.

The Jubilee church by Meier in Tor Tre Teste

Opening year: 2003

Architect: Richard Meier

The church has the appearance of a ship with three white sails blown by the wind. When Meier introduced him to John Paul II, he told him: “The white sails will lead us to a new world”.

Chiesa Parrocchiale di Dio Padre Misericordioso

Ara Pacis Museum

Opening year: 2006

Architect: Richard Meier

The design of the new museum is of the highest quality, as are the first class materials that were used to build it. The materials were chosen with a view to integrating the building with its surroundings: the travertine gives continuity in the colour scheme, the plaster and glass, which create a two-way transition between the interior and exterior, give a contemporary effect of volume and transparency, simultaneously full and empty.

MACRO Museo d'Arte Contemporanea di Roma

Opening year: 2010

Architect: Odile Decq

Odile Decq’s intervention conferred to the Museum a dynamic system of multiple articulations and connections. The large spaces, such as the exhibition rooms (which occupy a surface area of 4350 sqm), the foyer, the auditorium and the terrace (or panoramic garden) are connected by staircases, elevators, galleries and passages which, besides offering tangential perspectives and sequential points of view, also create a dynamic and heterogeneous experience of the museum’s architecture.
